y life (biz) story:

I grew up near Atlanta in a big family with frugal parents. Way before it was cool to thrift they taught me how to hunt through the goodwill for my favorite flare jeans (hello early 2000's!). By the time I was in middle school I figured out how to copy trends by utilizing what I had in my closet in multiple ways. My friends started asking me to make them denim skirts & butterfly belts (oh the days of Lizzie McGuire). That's when I fell in love with creating and at 13 yrs old decided I would move to NYC to work in fashion. After 2 rejections from my dream college, 3 years of a local life college (a valuable detour where I met my best friend + hubby) I finally moved to NYC with two suitcases and a big dream. I got accepted into FIT ( dream college ), and worked my way through college to graduate debt free. This really helped motivate me to move towards what I now call a "capsule wardrobe" ( a limited wardrobe of items that you LOVE + fit well + can mix & match )
In the midst of all that I started working as a wardrobe stylist through a sort of accidental internship. I honestly didn't know what styling was before then but fell in love with the process of collaborating on a look for someone to achieve a creative goal. People started recommending me and I had the honor to work on editorials, iPad launches, & with clients in entertainment ( cough::lady gaga::cough). I built up a some of my own clientele and decided to launch a company. Ironically at the same time the program I was in called Entrepreneurship at my school accidentally got overbooked and left me leaving college earlier than planned. I did the true NYC hustle ( nannying and admin work ) to pay my bills so I could take styling clients "on the side" and put that dream on the shelf.

After 4 years working in admin I got a divine kick in the butt to start the company I had been dreaming of as a full-time stylist and wardrobe coach. I decided to go for it and I've been styling friends, celebrities, and cool people like you ever since then as my full time gig. I am passionate about helping my clients re-discover their dream life. I believe everyone has the ability to express on the outside who they are on the inside and that they are their own best stylist, it just sometimes takes a little coaching to get there.
Things I value:

Quality. Meaning: ethical brands, companies and partnerships that are doing their best to bring significance to the world through their products and add value through their design. Starting from where things are sourced, all the way through the production line to the person who uses or wears their good. I believe it all matters because there is a person on the end of every decision we make. You can see some of my favorites over on my Pinterest.

Slow Living. Not as in speed, but as in finding the rythymn of doing things that bring you joy with getting things done in life. I believe you don't need to be a millionaire to work for yourself and enjoy it and on the flip side that prosperity is available to all those that seek out what they are meant to do in this world.

Prosperity. I believe it is your birthright. Therefore I pay people fairly for their craft and expect the same. I don't try to reinvent the wheel but rather employ people who are kick-butt at what they love, and focus my energy on my own craft.
I'm currently obsessed with Fixer Upper (I mean, who isn't really?) but when I'm not watching HGTV I love to read or watch anything related to food health/wellness, work on our 1950s duplex fixer upper in Brooklyn, and drink coffee anytime anywhere.

I consider this a safe space for everyone and No bigotry, "isms", or haterade is welcome here.
